Reggio Messina was a ferry of 122 m large, 17 m beam and 6 m draft that was used for passenger and train transportation. When it was retired, it was used as a party room and as a restaurant durint the Olimpic Games in 1992. But, due to rain, the ship sink in the Barcelona port. and it was moved to Costa Brava to became a wreck for local divers.
At the moment, the ship is sink in three parts: bow, central part and popa. The popa is the best conserved part and we can find it at -33 m. The central part it’s at -27 m and it is open by its laterals, making an easy entrance for divers. Finally, we can finde the bow at -32 m that is plenty of fishes.
El Reggio Messina era un ferri de 122 m d’eslora, 17 m de manega i 6 m de calat, dedicat al transport de passatgers i trens. Quan li va arribar el moment del retir, es va convertir en una sala de festes i restaurant pels Jocs Olimpics del 1992. Tot i aixo, les fortes plujes que van caure van provocar que s’enfonses al port de Barcelona i es va acabar decidint que es reflotes i es portes a la Costa Brava per conventir-lo en una atracció per als submarinistes de la zona.
Actualment es troba trencat en tres parts (popa, zona central i proa), sent la popa la part mes gran i ben conservada a uns -33 m. La coberta es troba a uns -27 m on s’an obert els laterals per facilitar l’acces dins el barco, uns metres mes endavant trobem la famosa torreta a uns -32 m envoltada de bancs de peixos.
